Vehicle as a weapon

A vehicle driven at a crowd or barrier, intentionally or out of control.

What it looks like

  • A vehicle revving, circling, or accelerating toward a pedestrian area
  • A car parked oddly against the flow near a queue or entrance

Before — design it out

  • Keep crowds and queues set back from the roadway
  • Use barriers, planters, or parked vehicles as standoff
  • Don't let lines form right at the curb

During — what staff do

  • Get people sideways and away from the vehicle's path — not straight ahead of it
  • Call 911
  • Move behind something solid; account for the injured
