Hostile surveillance / casing
Someone studying the site to plan something — the earliest warning you get.
What it looks like
- Filming or photographing entrances, cameras, or security posts
- Pacing, timing staff, or returning repeatedly to watch
- Asking unusual questions about security, schedules, or VIPs
Before — design it out
- Train staff to notice and note watchers
- Vary patrol timing so patterns are hard to read
- Log and share repeat sightings across shifts
During — what staff do
- Note clothing, behavior, direction, and any vehicle (plate if safe)
- Report to the safety lead — don't confront
- Have security make a visible, friendly contact if appropriate

Remember the spine. Notice → report quietly → let trained security assess. For immediate danger, call 911 first.
