Medical emergency
Cardiac, allergic, fall, heat, or other sudden illness — the most common 'real' emergency.
What it looks like
- Collapse, chest pain, trouble breathing, severe allergic reaction
- Confusion, seizure, heavy bleeding
Before — design it out
- Know where the AED and first-aid kit are on your floor
- Have a medical point and trained responders identified
- Keep paths clear for EMS, especially up to high floors
During — what staff do
- Call 911, start first aid / CPR / AED if trained
- Send a runner to meet EMS at the lobby and lead them up
- Give the patient room and privacy

Reputable references this guidance aligns with — confirm against your jurisdiction and your venue's own procedures.
Remember the spine. Notice → report quietly → let trained security assess. For immediate danger, call 911 first.
